Good Standing Letter

Any Scouts who wish to be involved in the planning of the World Scout Moot and other international events must be a current member of WOSM via a membership of their NSO.

To verify that a Scout is a current member and a member in good standing, all applicants must have a Good Standing/Recommendation letter attached to their application. This letter must be signed by NSO officers and be on formal headed paper.

We have a template letter that can be downloaded here. This template should be presented to your National Scout Head Officer for them to complete.

Training

All applicants will also be expected to complete Safe from Harm training and be willing to undertake additional training provided by the World Scout Moot team as required.

All correspondence with regards to applications will be treated in strict confidence. Failure to provide a Good Standing/Recommendation Letter will mean that your application will be refused.

To be eligible to apply for the Moot Planning Team, you must meet all of the below criteria:

    • Only current members of WOSM are allowed to apply and be involved with the World Scout Moot and WOSM international events. We are aware of people who are or have been Scouts but who are not fully paid up members of their NSO.

    • Have a current clearance/recommendation letter from their NSO (template letter can be downloaded here).
    • Applications from Scouting Ireland should be registered members and have completed safeguarding and vetting.

    • All applicants MUST be current members.

    International Service Team – IST

The International Service Team is the backbone of the Moot. They will serve as staff during the course of the event. This is separate from the Moot Planning Team which is working to organize the event beforehand. We will require 1000 IST for the Moot. IST must apply via their National Contingent when bookings open.

We expect that around a 33% of the IST team will be Irish and 66% from the different countries attending the Moot. Following WOSM’s guidelines for World Scout Moot, no participating country can have more IST members than participants.
